The Hot White Chocolates aims to authenticly recreate the orchestral type of jazz from the late twenties. Our concerts are held as radio shows, with an MC, commercials, and the occasonal call from an angry listener. We also like to play for dancing, if you know how dance to our music - for instance at our yearly Gatsby Ball.
Oslo | Grefsen og Disen vel | May 21st | 19:00
Join us at the beautiful Grefsen og Disen Vel building from 1929, for a "radio show" taking place shortly after it was built. Kringkastingsselskapet A/S, the privately owned predecessor to NRK, has decided to throw a concert at the newly finished venue, to entertain radio owners all over (most of) the country with music of the very latest style, as well as "important messages" from the channel's sponsors - and hopefully none of those calls from dissatisfied listeners...
Oslo | Uranienborg Meninghetshus | Sept 30th
The first of a series of yearly balls, in the style of the 1920's. This is an evening to dress up, have your hair groomed, and put on your best dance shoes. There will be Charlestons and Fox-Trots, and the occasional waltz and tango.
Dance classes in Charleston and Fox-Trot will be offered in the weeks before the ball..
